Shell pasta with Italian sausage, pancetta and parmesan cream

Shell pasta with Italian sausage, pancetta and parmesan cream

An insanely good pasta bake of conchiglie (pasta shells), folded through with a flavour-bomb ragu of Italian pork and fennel sausage and diced pancetta ,simmered with tomatoes and topped with Parmesan-enriched cream. A base of soffrito veg (carrots, celery and onion) and a scattering of peas means the vegetable box is ticked – but a salad on the side would be very welcome.

To Serve

This is a complete meal in a tray for the time-poor but feel free to add a leafy green salad - ideally with a few bitter leaves like radicchio and some added crunch from shaved fennel and radish.

Ingredients

Cooked pasta (30%) (wheat semolina, water), parmesan cheese (17%) (milk, salt, cultures, non-animal rennet), pork and fennel sausage mix (13%) (pork, salt, fennel, garlic, black pepper), crushed tomatoes (tomato puree, citric acid), cream (milk), onion, peas, carrot, celery, pancetta (1.5%) (pork (96%), salt, dextrose (maize), cracked black pepper, red wine (sulphites), starter cultures, garlic, antioxidant (316), preservative (250,251)), salt, tomato paste, olive oil, parsley, butter (cream (milk), salt, culture), plain flour (wheat), garlic, lemon zest, oregano, black pepper, nutmeg
