The secret ingredient to dinner? A good mechanic.

The secret ingredient to dinner? A good mechanic.

Behind every box of stone-cold deliciousness that lands on your doorstep, there are many moving parts—quite literally. Our fleet of Dinner Ladies vans keeps the whole operation rolling, and when one of them decides to take an unscheduled break (usually at the worst possible time), there’s only one name we trust to get us back on the road: our neighbours at Torrisi Automotive

Torrisi is a local, family-owned business that has kept Matraville’s wheels turning for 40 years! For as long as we’ve been filling freezers and tummies, Angelo Torrisi, Leanne, and the team have made sure our vans don’t spend much time sitting idle. They’re big on preventative servicing (take note if you’ve got a car!) to ensure we don’t get stuck in a pickle when delivering your dinner. If there’s a quick problem to fix, they get us back on the road in minutes (their record is ten!) so dinners are delivered without any hassle.

Our favourite question to ask our suppliers is simple: what’s your go-to Dinner Ladies meal? And their reply was certifiably delicious! “There has not been a meal we have not liked, all have been fabulous, although our go-to meal is the sneaky veg sausage rolls and the potato gratin — all we need to do is make a delicious salad. Very easy!”

But it’s not just their mechanical wizardry (and excellent taste) that keeps us coming back—it’s the kind of old-school, genuine care you don’t see every day. So here’s to Torrisi Automotive, our behind-the-scenes heroes who make sure we can keep doing what we do best: bringing you dinner right when you need it.
