Traditional Christmas pudding

Traditional Christmas pudding

A proper, old-school Christmas pud, because is it really Dec 25 without it? Our answer is a definitive nope! Our recipe is from Sophie’s mum (thanks XX!), a little on the lighter side, full of moisture, a touch of booze, a lotta dried fruit and not a dried citrus peel in sight (as it’s a contentious point in our families). It's the real deal, spiced with cinnamon and cloves and bound with breadcrumbs, brown sugar and butter.

To Serve

Serve with brandy butter, custard, ice cream or cream – or go all out and mix and match.

Ingredients

White Ciabatta (wheat), liqueur muscat (17%) (sulphites), free range eggs, salted butter (cream (milk)), salt, culture), sugar, sultanas (9.5%), currants (9.5%), prunes (9.5%) (prunes 99.4%, palm oil, potassium sorbate), apple, plain flour (wheat), treacle (cane sugar, water), olive oil, baking powder (cream of tartar, sodium bicarbonate, organic rice flour), cinnamon, lemon zest, cloves

    Yummy in my tummy

I love a good Christmas pud and this one didn't disappoint. Lots of fruit and was nice a soft. Got two, one is in the freezer ready for Easter.

    Best Christmas Pudding

We all thought this was the best Christmas pudding we had ever eaten - not too rich or dense.
